Winter weather in Saint Petersburg is cold but stable. December sees temperatures from -3°C to -8°C, January is the coldest month with averages of -6°C to -10°C, and February remains frosty but often sunnier. Snowfall is frequent, creating a white blanket over the city. Daylight is short — only 6–7 hours in December — so plan your day wisely.

What to pack: Thermal underwear, a windproof winter coat, woolen hat, scarf, gloves, and waterproof boots with good grip. Don’t forget lip balm and moisturizer — the cold air is dry. Hand warmers are a lifesaver for long walks.

Winter offers unique activities you can’t enjoy in other seasons. Skate at the New Holland Island ice rink or the rink in Park 300th Anniversary of St. Petersburg.
