Sochi in Winter 2026: Complete Seasonal Guide

Weather on the coast: December to February — daytime +8°C to +12°C, nights +2°C to +6°C. Rain is common, snow is rare near the sea. In the mountains (Krasnaya Polyana): -5°C to +2°C, heavy snowfall from December to March.

What to wear: Layering is key. For the coast: a waterproof jacket, sweater, jeans, and comfortable walking shoes. For skiing: thermal underwear, ski jacket, gloves, hat, and goggles. Don't forget an umbrella and sunscreen (yes, the winter sun can be strong!).

Skiing & snowboarding: Krasnaya Polyana — Rosa Khutor, Gorky Gorod, and Gazprom resorts. Ski passes from 3,500 RUB/day (≈$40). Equipment rental available.
